How to Receive Our Feeds
Our daily updates are now available as RSS feeds. We've got the information you'll need including a quick explanation to anyone who doesn't have a clue what RSS is about!
A. If you understand what we mean by adding our feeds then read this:
There are several ways to subscribe to our free daily feeds:
1. Copy some code and then paste it where you normally go to subscribe to feeds (either software or a website that collects feeds). Copy this code: http://www.cruisingforsex.com/cfsfeed.xml
2. If you already have a newsreader installed on your computer, click this link: feed. That action should cause your newsreader to launch and add our feed to your subscriptions.
3. You can add our feed to a site such as "My Yahoo," your Google home page, or MSN by clicking on the appropriate icon in the box.
B. If you don't have a clue what RSS means read this:
a. What is RSS? RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a method of communicating information via newsreaders and web browsers. It uses code (just like the web page you're reading right now) for distributing and gathering content (such as links to picture galleries, news headlines, stock quotes, etc.). Using RSS, anyone can easily create and disseminate things -- we call them 'feeds' -- to other like-minded individuals. Learn much more about RSS by reading these web pages from Fagan Finder.
b. What is meant by feeds? A feed is anything you can view in RSS format. It is most likely text, and usually only 2 or 3 sentences. There is a link which, when clicking, takes you to the full article you can read from your web browser. Some feeds include pictures and a growing number include music files and video clips.
c. Is there a cost to subscribe to the feed? No. Subscribing is, like everything here at CRUISING for SEX, absolutely free.
d. What are newsreaders? A newsreader is a piece of software you can download to your computer so you may easily subscribe to and view RSS feeds including the CRUISING for SEX feed. Yahoo has assembled a list of newsreaders, many of them free to download. Go here for the Yahoo list.
e. Can I read feeds without downloading a newsreader? Yes! Many websites bring together hundreds of feeds in one place, plus if you register (often for free) with that website, you can add any feed including the CRUISING for SEX feed to their feeds. Go here for a list of websites that do this.
f. Now that you better understand what is meant by RSS and you've either downloaded a newsreader or subscribed to web-based newsreading service, go to the top of this page, section 'A', and follow the easy instructions to subscribe to our feed.
