Cruiser sukmeoff2 is the latest Cruiser to chime in with suggestions, ideas and thoughts on gloryhole usage at the Cruising for Sex Message Board. It is proving to be an interesting thread, worth a read. This tip is one I'll remember:

I carry those little antibacterial wipes so I can wipe the surrounding hole before I accept any dick, that way all I smell is the fragrance of the wipe ...and the hole get a tad cleaner.
